-
What should I wear during my airbrush tan?You can wear whatever you're comfortable with! You can go nude during your tan if you don't want lines - men are required to wear bottoms. Some clients wear just undies, some wear a swimsuit or a strapless bra & undies, stickies/nipple covers, or some wear nothing at all. We provide disposable thongs for $1. Just keep in mind that whatever you wear, will not get tanned underneath. If you would like to wear something during your tan, we recommend wearing dark colors to avoid staining from the cosmetic bronzer. IMPORTANT: Make sure to wear or bring dark, loose clothing to your appointment. Wearing tight clothes or a bra afterwards could cause the bronzer from your tan to smudge or leave an unwanted line from the seams.
-
Which airbrush tan should I choose? The main difference is the time you need to wait before rinsing off the cosmetic bronzer. The Gold Rush (rapid) is our #1 airbrush tan service, and the bronzer must be rinsed off 2-6 hours after your appointment (the solution gets darker by the hour!). The O.G. tan has a wait time of 12-24 hours before your first rinse. The 24k Gold tan is either option (Gold Rush or O.G.), with your added discounted starter kit. This is perfect for first-timers so you're set up for success. If you aren't sure & would like our advice, just book either option and we can always switch it at your appointment!
-
I'm pregnant/breastfeeding. Can I get an airbrush tan?Airbrush tanning is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy. Once you're 12 weeks along, we would love to airbrush tan you! We recommend speaking with your doctor beforehand to determine what is best for you. You can airbrush while breastfeeding, we just recommend covering up top with a swimsuit top/bra to prevent any tan solution transferring to your baby's skin.
-
How long do your airbrush tans last? They last about 7-10 days if taken care of properly. To help your tan last as long as possible, make sure to exfoliate the day before your appointment and to apply moisturizer & keep your skin hydrated after your first rinse. We sell custom touch-up sprays (includes your custom color!) that you can purchase in-store for $9.99 if you want to touch up your tan / keep your glow going. The sprays are travel sized and perfect to bring with on vacation!
-
Do your airbrush tans look natural?Yes, we always customize the tan shade to each client's skin tone to ensure a natural-looking tan. If you've had a bad experience with spray tanning in the past (ex: orange looking) & are nervous, please let us know! Orange hues are typically developed if the DHA % is too high for your skin type. We offer a wide variety of DHA % and color-based solutions, so we can find the perfect shade for you!
-
Are airbrush tans safe for my skin?Yes! We only use sunless, DHA-based solutions. DHA is an FDA approved ingredient that is derived from plant sources such as sugar beets & sugar cane. If you have any allergy concerns, please let us know so we can provide you with a full ingredient list. We also offer free skin patch tests. However, airbrush tans do not protect your skin from the sun. We recommend using a mineral-based broad spectrum SPF daily.
-
How often can I get an airbrush tan if I want to be tan consistently? You can airbrush tan as much as you'd like! Keep in mind our airbrush tans last 7-10 days depending on how well you take care of it. We have clients who come in weekly or every other week to keep their tan going all year round, and we now offer discounted monthly memberships - check out our tan membership section for more info.
-
Do you airbrush tan men?Absolutely! All bodies are welcome.
-
How far in advance should I get my airbrush tan for an event? We recommend booking your airbrush tan for 1-2 days before your event. For example, if your event is on Saturday, book your tan for the Thursday or Friday before. Please also keep in mind that it's best to take care of all other beauty services (sugaring, waxing, manis/pedis, facials, lashes, etc.) before your airbrush tan to avoid ruining your tan.
-
Can I get an airbrush tan if I'm under the age of 18?Yes, but we require a parent or guardian's signature for guests under the age of 18.
-
How long does my hair need to be in order to be sugar waxed?Hair should be at least 1/4" long (about a grain of rice) for best results.
-
Do you accept walk-ins for sugaring? We currently are appointment only, but we do accept last minute appointments if our estheticians are available! Please book online or call the studio (219-513-9131) to see if we can accommodate you.
-
Can minors get sugared/waxed?Yes, but clients under the age of 18 require a parent/guardian's signature before any sugaring/waxing services. Clients must be 16+ for a Brazilian service.
-
What is sugaring?Sugaring removes hair (an ancient Egyptian technique) using an organic sugar paste made of only three ingredients - water, sugar, & lemon juice. The process is done by a licensed esthetician who applies the sugaring paste, then uses gentle motion to remove the hair in the natural direction of the hair growth.
-
How long does sugaring/waxing last?Sugaring/waxing results last around 3-5 weeks. Sugaring/waxing will most likely reduce hair growth over time, meaning you'll have less hair to sugar/wax each time a new appointment rolls around!
-
Can I get a Brazilian while menstruating?Yes you can - menstruating does not affect the sugaring process. However, you may be more sensitive to pain right before & during your period. We require that you use a tampon during a Brazilian sugaring if you're currently on your period for hygenic purposes.
-
Does sugaring hurt? While it's typical for a little pain for most hair removal, many report sugaring is less painful than waxing. Sugar paste only removes hair & dead skin, causing less trauma to live skin cells. As you sugar regularly, hair growth slows and hair becomes lighter/thinner, resulting in even less pain! If you're nervous about pain, you can take an over the counter pain medication (Tylenol, Advil, etc.) about an hour before your appointment.
-
Can I get sugared/waxed if I take Accutane?Sugaring/waxing is not recommended if you've taken Accutane in the past 6 months.
-
